Getting started with AttendTrack
A quick guide to the web dashboard — from first class to printed attendance report.
1 · Set up your classes
Open Dashboard → Classes and add each section you teach with its schedule. Every class gets its own roster and attendance sheets.
2 · Add learners
Add learners one by one in Dashboard → Learners, or bring in a whole class list at once from Dashboard → Import using a CSV file (a downloadable template is provided).
3 · Check attendance
In Dashboard → Attendance, pick the class and date, mark each learner Present, Absent, Late, or Excused (with optional remarks), then save. Re-open the same date any time to review or correct it.
4 · Generate reports
Dashboard → Reports summarizes attendance per learner over any date range, with totals and rates. Export the summary as CSV or print it for filing.
Import & export
Import accepts pasted or uploaded CSVs and validates every row before anything is saved. You can export report CSVs and a full JSON backup from Settings.
Demo mode vs cloud sync
Without an account, the dashboard runs in demo mode and data stays in your browser. In cloud mode, school details, classes, learners, and Android-uploaded attendance load from your Supabase account; cloud attendance is read-only on the web for now.
Frequently asked questions
Is my data safe?
In demo mode nothing leaves your device. With cloud sync, your data is stored in your own account and protected so only you can access it. Either way, regular JSON backups from Settings are recommended.
Can I use it without internet?
Yes. Attendance checking is designed to work offline; a connection is only needed for account sign-in and syncing.
What CSV format does Import expect?
Columns: lrn, first_name, last_name, sex, guardian_name, guardian_contact. Download the ready-made template on the Import page.
How do I move a learner to another class?
Edit the learner in Dashboard → Learners and choose the new class. Their attendance history is kept.
